NEW ALIENS NOVELS

After nearly a decade hiatus, we have new ALIENS novels! The previous batch (which rule, btw) were adaptations of the Dark Horse Comics series. Again, they ruled and I highly recommend them; "Earth Hive" and "Nightmare Asylum" make a fantastic ALIEN 3, as they were written pre-movie - awesome story of 17yr old Newt, washed out injured Hicks and Aliens on Earth... and that's just the setup!

This new series are original tales post-Resurrection era, I believe. I haven't read any yet, but have just started to read "Original Sin" (thanks, Angela!) and I picked up DNA War the other day (Cauldron has not been released yet).

ALIENS: ORIGINAL SIN
expands further on this classic story, bringing back characters like Ripley 8, the clone of Lt. Ellen Ripley, and android Call. It also sorts out unanswered questions from the movies and raises entirely new ones. Was it just coincidence that the Nostromo happened to pass by the desolate planet? Why was the alien on the crashed ship in the first place?

ALIENS: DNA WAR
In an inhospitable galaxy, the planet Rosamond 6 seems to have everything needed for human habitation: a moon, an atmosphere, a thriving biosystem. But although it looks like an oasis, it harbors a fatal secret: murderous aliens bent on wiping out every life form in their path. Anthropologist Jocasta Malvaux is eager to prove her theory that the aliens can be reasoned with, so she sets up an observation post on Rosamond 6. Amazingly, when the monsters become aware of Malvaux and her expedition, they don’t attack. What’s the reason behind the aliens’ seeming lack of interest in the humans? Are they evolving? Or are they simply lying in wait?

ALIENS: CAULDRON
On the spaceship Umiak, an elite troupe of cadets is forced into servitude by an unscrupulous captain commanding the ship to a smuggler’s rendezvous. During the transaction aboard the eerily silent Virginia, the cadets unwittingly transport an unexpected cargo: a hive of hibernating aliens. As the aliens begin to awake, a terrifying battle erupts between the cadets, the smugglers, the captain, and the emergent monsters. The cadets soon realize that in space, no one can hear them scream.
